Lab diamond cuts
Diamond faceting is one method by which rough diamonds are processed. A diamond cut refers collectively to the proportions, symmetry and brilliance of a diamond.
The shape of the cut is one of the basic criteria in diamond grading and it’s also one of the 4Cs (Cut, Color, Carat, Clarity). Diamond cutting (also known as faceting) is a jewelry making activity in which rough diamonds are cut to create gemstones for use in jewelry. For larger and more expensive stones, the faceting is done by hand, while smaller stones are now mostly cut by a machine.
One of the most famous types of cuts is the brilliant cut, which is best able to harness the light as it passes through the diamond. However, there are dozens of other fancy cuts including the princess, emerald, asscher, pear, radiant, oval, cushion, heart and marquise.
