Jewelry casting

Casting is a process in which molten gold or other metal is poured into a mold and allowed to cool and harden to form a specific jewelry shape. Metal jewelry is cast using the lost wax method. This process has been used since antiquity. A prepared plaster mold with a wax tree inside is heated before casting, the wax is melted and poured. Its residue simply evaporates after the molten metal is poured. The cavities created in the plaster are filled with the metal. Alloy melts of the required purity are used for casting. After pouring the melt, the mold is allowed to cool down in a controlled manner.
